Interview with Buddy Shellenberger, a Navy veteran (LST-373), concerning his experiences during the Normandy invasion on June 6, 1944. Falsifying documents about his age in order to enlist; boot camp, Sampson, New York, 1944; assignment to LST-373, 1944; his detailed account of activities leading up to and during D-Day, June 6, 1944; transfer to the escort carrier USS Shamrock Bay, 1944; brief account of his activities around the Mariana Islands, 1944-45. Appendix includes photocopy of newspaper article that has photos of the interviewee as both a young and old man.
